INTENDED USE
For the quantitative determination of fibrinogen levels in disseminated intravascular coagulation (non-localized clotting within the blood vessels) and primary fibrinolysis (the dissolution of fibrinogen in a blood clot).
FOR IN VITRO DIAGNOSTIC USE.

CALIBRATOR PREPARATION
 1.  Add exactly 1 mL of purified water to the vial containing the lyophilized calibrator to dissolve it.  Swirl gently to avoid foaming.

 2.  Prepare 3 calibrators (Cal A-C, Cal D is the stock) using the stock dissolved plasma and saline (not included).  Note some analyzers can automatically dilute the calibrators so these steps would not be needed.  See product package insert and specific analyzer parameter sheet for details.

STORAGE AND HANDLING
All calibrators should be stored refrigerated (2-8°C).  Return all calibrators to 2-8°C promptly after use.  Unopened calibrators can be used for one year from the date of manufacturing as indicated by the expiration date on the package and bottle labels.  Opened, reconstituted, and diluted calibrators can be used for 1 week if stored at 2-8°C.

CALIBRATOR VALUES
The following values are given as an example.  The expected values for the K-ASSAY ®   Fibrinogen Calibrator are continually being revised through ongoing quality assurance.   As a result, the expected values may change from lot to lot.  Please refer to the package insert for each lot for the exact calibrator values.
